ConveyUX takes place on RingCentral, a robust event platform with plenty of ways to enjoy the content and network with others. Here are some helpful tips.

Security

RingCentral is a secure, password-protected space. You must create a free RingCentral account, which is started by the “Magic Link” you receive [from <[email protected]>] before the conference. The Magic Link is unique to your registration. You can use it to directly enter the virtual experience — before (and after) it goes live — and set up your profile and your personal schedule, called My Agenda.

My Agenda

My Agenda allows you to create your personal schedule for the conference.

When your My Agenda activitity is about to start, you will get a notification in RingCentral.

To add a schedule segment to My Agenda, enter the event (with your Magic Link) and select the Bookmark icon for that segment. In the same way, select a highlighted (blue) Bookmark to remove it from My Agenda.

Navigation

In RingCentral, use the side menu (pictured right) to navigate event areas:

Red tags alert you to active segments. To join an activity, select a tagged icon, select What’s happening now (in Reception), or select an active segment in the schedule.

Reception

Upon joining the event, you land in Reception — the event lobby and information hub. In Reception, you will see the

Scroll to the schedule and bookmark segments to build your personal schedule, which populates the “My Agenda” tab. During a live event, Ring Central highlights active segments in blue.

Stage

Watch presentations in Stage and post questions and comments in Stage chat.

Sessions

Watch presentations in Sessions and post questions and comments in Session chat.

Networking

Make new connections in Networking. RingCentral does not record Networking.

Speed Networking

In Networking, participate in random, 3-minute, 1:1 meetings with other attendees. You meet individuals in Networking only once during an event.

Exchange Contacts

In Networking, during a 1:1 meeting, select Connect to share your RingCentral profile details with the other person — similar to offering your business card. When both people select Connect, a new connection appears in their respective RingCentral accounts.

Add time

In Networking, during your 1:1, select Extend to add time. Ring Central will prompt the other person to confirm.

Icebreakers

Here are a few conversation starters for networking (remember to watch the clock):

Other Ways to Network

In addition to networking, connect in other ways.

Start a Video Call or Schedule a Meeting

In the People tab (located next to the Chat tab), select a fellow attendee. Then, invite them to a video call, schedule a meeting, or send them a message.

Use the Chat Tab

Use Event chat to address everyone at the conference.

Use Stage, Session, and Expo chats to address attendees in those areas.

Update Your Profile

Update your RingCentral profile by adding a photo, short description, and social media details. This is your “business card” in RingCentral.

Expo

Visit Expo for pre-recorded videos, live talks, or other information presented by event sponsors and vendors. Booths are always open during an event. RingCentral does not record Expo.

Replay

Watch unedited recordings of Stage and Sessions segments in Replay. The Replay for a segment is usually available within 30 to 45  minutes.

Browsers

For the best experience: Use a desktop or laptop whenever possible to enjoy the full range of RingCentral event features. Using a desktop or laptop is a must if you’re speaking or moderating a session.

If mobile is necessary: As an attendee, you can join an event hosted on RingCentral Events using a mobile browser (despite its limitations).

RingCentral is fully compatible with the following desktop browsers updated to the latest version:

Other independent browsers that accept webRTC technology may be compatible.

Stream speeds

Before an event, you can

At a minimum, your upload speed should be 2 Mbps, and your download should be 5 Mbps (ideal results are 10 Mbps upload, 30 Mbps download).

VPN

Ring Central recommends that you disable any VPN if you use one.

Technical Support

Access Chat Support from the dropdown menu next to your avatar.  Alternatively, search “Get Help” in the People tab, and message a conference team member with [Get Help] in their name.
