I started in the field in 2003, when I became a doctoral student researching the use and evaluation of user research techniques in the field of geovisualization. I have been working in this area ever since.

Most recently, I was head of user research and analysis at Government Digital Service, a unit of the UK government. Before I moved into research operations in 2019 as UX research operations manager at Springer Nature, a science publisher, Kogan Page published a book I wrote on user research in 2018. I am currently working on a second edition, due out in February 2021.
