Melissa is a UX Strategist who delights in applying a human centered approach to designing services and interactive products, particularly within complex organizations and highly regulated environments.

Prior to joining Blink her research and design work focused on how human centered design and agile software development practices can help make people’s interactions with government easier, and she has consulted with Federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, National Institutes of Health, National Forest Service, and the Federal Election Commission.

Melissa has a Bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology and an MS in Human Centered Design & Engineering. Melissa is also a PhD Candidate in Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington where she specialized in understanding and managing the intricacies of designing health- and safety-critical public services, such as national security and Veteran’s healthcare.
