Knowledge Management for Designers: Cultivating the Habits of Thought Leadership

Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) is the practice of capturing, organizing, and synthesizing information to enhance personal understanding, creativity, and decision-making.

In this session, I’ll walk through the PKM method that has been foundational to my career as a UX consultant and author. You’ll learn a three-step process for learning and thinking more deeply:

  • Capture
  • Reflect
  • Express

I’ll show how this process is supported today by new-generation tools, including networked thought applications (such as Obsidian and Roam Research) and generative AI.
